KILLZONE FIELD GUIDE / CONTROLLER SETUP GUIDE

Connect your controller. Get ready to fly.

YOUR NEXT FLIGHT STARTS HERE

Already have an FPV radio or gamepad? You may be able to use it to fly Killzone FPV in a desktop browser. This guide covers USB and Bluetooth controller setup on a computer. On iPhone or iPad, use the iOS app and follow the separate mobile setup guide.

Open controller setup

Free browser play. No account required.
Killzone Pro is optional.

Plug in or pair your controller

For a USB radio, use a cable that carries data, not one that only charges. If your radio offers a USB joystick mode, choose it. Check the manual for the right USB port and setting—some radios have separate ports for charging and playing.

For a gamepad, connect it by USB or pair it through your computer’s Bluetooth settings if supported. Click back into the game, then move a stick or press a button. The browser may need that first button press before the controller appears.

Follow the on-screen stick setup

Choose the FPV Radio option in the game’s input setup and open calibration. Calibration simply teaches the game what each stick does. Start by moving both sticks through their full range when asked, then follow the prompts for throttle, yaw, pitch, and roll one at a time.

Move only the control the screen asks for, and hold it at the requested end position when prompted. Check the on-screen stick display before saving. If something moves the wrong way, repeat that step rather than copying someone else’s controller settings.

  1. Check throttle from its lowest to highest position.
  2. Check that yaw turns, pitch tilts forward and back, and roll tilts left and right as expected.
  3. Let the sticks rest where they normally do when the setup asks, then save.

Take a short test flight

Start in solo freestyle with plenty of space around you. Gently raise the throttle, then try one small stick movement at a time. If a control works backward or moves the wrong way, return to calibration before continuing.

The game remembers your controller setup in this browser. You may need to set it up again after switching browsers, clearing browser data, or connecting a different controller. Put the reset button somewhere easy to reach but hard to press by accident.

If your controller does not appear

Try another data cable or USB port and check that your radio is in joystick mode. Make sure your computer recognizes the controller, then return to the game and press a controller button. If another game or controller app is open, close it and try again.

Connecting a radio to a phone can work differently from connecting it to a computer. Check Support for the mobile setup options. Still stuck? Tell us your controller model, device, browser, and what happens when you move a stick. We may also ask which software version your radio uses.

Flying on iPhone or iPad

Safari may not expose an FPV radio as a controller. The Killzone FPV iOS app can instead read a supported ExpressLRS radio through Wi-Fi Joystick, or use a compatible Apple Game Controller. The ExpressLRS path needs a supported Wi-Fi-capable transmitter running ELRS 3.4 or newer; not every radio has been verified.

The mobile guide walks through Direct Radio Wi-Fi for local practice, Home Wi-Fi for multiplayer, and the four-control calibration check.

QUICK ANSWERS

Common questions

Can I use a RadioMaster transmitter?

Yes, if your model can connect as a compatible joystick or game controller. Check its manual for the right cable and connection mode, then run the in-game setup. Compatibility can vary by radio, computer, and browser.

Can I play without an FPV radio?

Yes. Try a compatible gamepad, Mouse + Keyboard, or Keyboard. A radio or gamepad makes it easier to control several movements at once, especially when racing or playing PvP.

Do I need to install a browser extension?

No extension is needed. Connect a compatible controller, open the game, and follow the setup. If it does not appear, try the connection checks above.
